Dead and dying seas. Bodélé Depression

The Bodele Depression is all that is left of Lake Megachad. The remains of this freshwater lake now plays hosts as the dusiest place on earth. The depression is a major source of dust for the Atlantic, depositing calcium, iron, potassium, and phosphorus needed by phytoplankton. It is also the major source of dust that fertilizes the Amazon basin in South America.
